I'm sorry, but it didn't help. The hard drive was already set to DMA
mode (and it had no effect). I did some checking and when I replay an
mpeg1/2 file using mplayer or converting it into a .vdr-file there are
also artifacts but just a few. And every time i replay an recording the
message No accelerated IMDCT transform found is being displayed.

I couldn't let it rest so i spend the hole night. I discovered something
really odd. There are absolutely no mpeg error, if I clock my CPU to
75MHz. This is an original Inter 200MHz Pentium in an
out-of-the-box-IBM-PC, but the way to watchable recordings is 75MHz; I
checked every clock speed from 75 to 200MHz, but only 75MHz worked. I've
absolutely no idea why. The CPU was absolutely stable (compiling for
hours).

Now it's working, but the OSD is reacting very slowly and I've found that
there are still some errors (4 to 5 times per hour and different). I
think the VDR crashes cause about 15 sec. of the recording are missing
(but no further error).

Could someone find an explanation for this really strange symptom?
