Luca, you can do this within VDR, before transferring your vdr recording to 
windows !
Look at the vdr manual (MANUAL file) under section "Editing a recording".
Plus you can do it using the remote control :)

Hi all,
when I record a movie I start the timer approx 30 mins before the movie
and end 30 mins after the movie.
So I have a large file to copy on my primary machine which is a Windows
one (my VDR is a p233MMX).
I would like to play, cut and paste my .vdr file in Windows so that I
can convert ONLY the movie to SVCD format.
Is there any tool to cut/join the .vdr file?
Any way to watch it on Windows without converting it?
I use PVAStrumento and PVA2SVCD to convert it, but I would like to start
with the right-length movie.
