And what for do you need more than 720*576 as your TV can't display higher
resolutions physically?

RGB in fact improves picture quality even to S-Video and a simple VGA-card
with a nice self-made cable is much cheaper than a G400.

The only risk is that you mustn't use horizontal frequencies above 16 kHz,
which could burn your TV (cheaper ones generate their high-voltage from the
input frequencies).
