Hi Helmut :-)

I have tried STR on this laptop a few times, it seems a bit picky on kernel
version and APM/ACPI options, but suspend to RAM does really work.

Because of the low power requirements there is no fan running when it is
suspended, and it will last a few hours on batteries before it dies.

When waking up however, PCMCIA should be reinitialized (because you could have
swapped something while it was asleep), so reinitialize the network card,
etc. No problem :)

If X was running, it might not want to display the screen straight away, might
have to hit "use external CRT"--"use LCD" to get it to work.

Also, keyboard typerates and mouse speed etc are reset, so should be
reinitialized (but you could have swapped the mouse while it was asleep, so
it makes sense).

But overall, it does work. Samba will work, but the client which was using
Samba will have probably given up and closed any connections. Samba should
notice this.
