I doubt you have children of your own.  If you did you would know that
young children do not have the experience or mental ability to deal with
violence or pornography or the like.  These things really disturb
children and the consequences are evident (nightmares, violence to
others etc).  This is not censorship this is reality.  My children have
no more "right" to view this stuff than to stab each other with knives,
play with boiling water etc.

Certainly, once children are older you can stop being so protective and
start to help them evaluate what they view etc.

I think that adding this kind of feature to vdr to be an important
consideration.  It is not censorship imposed from an external body or
the like.  Perhaps it is a feature that could be used for censorship
(limited by members of the same household), but that does not mean that
this should not be added.
