I have the same combination and I'd say this is the best-working combination
I've tried so far.

Same for me. Playback works in 'live' mode but the picture does not (OSD
works though), but in 'black' mode nothing works.

The problem for me is that I've been experiencing crashes. Picture does
'crash' in a weird way (gets distorted and freezes) and VDR stops
responding. The mp3 playback still continues, but the only way to fix this
is to restart VDR. Once I had to rmmod/reload dxr3 driver to make it work
again, but that was only one single time out of approximately ten crashes.

I'm not sure if this is mp3 problem or something else. This might be related
to freezes I get every now and then when I'm using OSD. The OSD was active
every time the mp3 playback (VDR) crashed.
