Hmmm ... and if you've money around buy a sound card like RME Digi96 which
includes the feature to be able to be switched into `slave' mode which means
that the S/P-DIF in is used for reference instead of the onbaord quart.
Clearly for input _and_ reference the S/P-DIF out of the DVB card is just
perfect.

The SB Live 5.1 should be switched into raw PCM out mode, that means that
the PCM data should _not_ be modified by the card.
