[vdr] Re: Rotor power: Was (Re: Re: cool down of dvb 1.3)

They aren't as fragile as the ARM-7 outputs ;o))
>Do you know a way to check if there is any LNB power?
Sure, just take your favorite DVB programm (like
VDR ;o)). Load the drivers and measure the LNB
plug at the rear of the DVB card (center pin is + shield
connector is minus). Depending on what polarity (H/V)
you have, you should see something like 10.5-12.5V
or 15-19V. You don't need to have the motor or the
LNB connected.

Courtesy of Helmut Auer I have a Rev 1.3 here. Geez
does that sucker get hot even w/o moving the dish. The
tuner design is totally ;((( The tuner gets way over 50°C.
(It has *nothing* to do with the LNB power, tho) After
some 30 minutes of watching TV you can't touch the
tuner chip any more. Rev 1.3? No thanks!
>> A DVB-S Rev 1.6. IMHO the only way to fly.

>LNB power supply unit?
No, there may be small variations in the LNBP chip
(either LNBP16 or LNBP20) but basically it is the same
Technotrend layout. I have never seen a Rev 2.2 so I don't
know if it also holds true for this Rev. However, Rev >1.6
no longer have the nice J2 ;o( jumper.

Hmm, but you are only sending a "move" diseqc command.
Not a "move to" command. Here is part of my diseqc.conf :
S13E 11700 V 9750 t v W15 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01]

S13E 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01]

S13E 11700 H 9750 t V W15 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01] W1 [E0 31 6B 01]

W15 T
The above two are for moving the satellite dish to either Astra
or Hotbird. The "move to" command is 6B + EEprom "addresse"
in the motor.
S7E 11700 V 9750 t W15 [E0 31 6A 0E]
S7E 99999 V 10600 t W15 [E0 31 6A 0E]
S7E 11700 H 9750 t W15 [E0 31 6A 0E]
S7E 99999 H 10600 t W15 [E0 31 6A 0E]
I misuse this one for storing the satellite (6A + EEProm
adresse) Hispasat
S1W 11700 V 9750 t W15 [E0 31 69 02]
S1W 99999 V 10600 t W15 [E0 31 69 02]
S1W 11700 H 9750 t W15 [E0 31 69 02]
S1W 99999 H 10600 t W15 [E0 31 69 02]
This is my command for moving the dish in small incrediments
(west IIRC).
For *me* I found it necessary to repeat the diseqc sequence.
when using the "move to" command. Since this also Eutelsat
spec (diseqc should be repeated at least 3 times) its nothing
out of the ordinary. You may also want to try this.

A bit too far away for me ;o)) Hope the above helps you out.
>Happy easter to you all.
Yes, thanks. Same wishes back to you.
