[vdr] buying CAM, tips??

Hi

Is there something I should think of when buying a Conax-CAM?
Canaldigital said something about they had to get the serie number for
my tuner so they could open the cam for that spesific tuner. Is this
correct? Or can I just buy a CAM in the store and use it without
problems?
