Actually that's what

  SwitchChannel(Channel, false);

is for. The second parameter is 'LiveView', and only then the PIDs will
be set for live viewing. Ok, there was a problem with encrypted channels only
being receivable in live mode with the old firmware, but since the LL firmware
this is no longer the case. So, with the above call you can "tune to transponder only".
