It is, of course, scanning "all the time". The interval is adjustable, see the
entry "Timeout für Auto Timer" on the configuration page of vdradmin. I'm
using an interval of 60 minutes.

You can test this: Just delete a timer programmed by the autotimer, and after
the intervall it should be there again.
