AFAIK there is a "minimum time till next recording" setting for
(automatically) shutting down, isn't it? Using that would be the most logical solution I
think - although I don't understand why one would want to shut down at all
when an recording is running. Except for rebooting - in which case an "if
nexttimer < now then reboot else shutdown" would be helpful...if the current timer
was submitted, not the next one which is not withing the above limit.
