[vdr] reduce noise of DVD-drive for playback

Hello,

while searching the forums for the problem of a loud DVD-drive while 
playing back DVDs I encountered only one method:

hdparm -E x /dev/hdy

where x is the speed of the drive.

Now that doesnīt work for me (actually for my DVD-drive, maybe for 
CD-drives it works).
Anyone got suggestions?
I wonder this isnīt a more discussed issue.
