Hmm yes, but actually i initialize  the base constructor of the cPlayer 
with pmNone,
this way video *AND* audio of the live programm do continue.
I do not use the PlayVideo method, but output the data by calling 
write() on a fd openend on /dev/dsp.

Well, I know. My question was, how to change that behaviour. Maybe vdr 
core can ask the active player,if it want to occupy the channel switch 
keys or not.
Would really appreciate that.

Then i cannot use cControl::Launch. how should that fit in the vdr concept?
the color keys should be useable while playing.
as the left-  right keys.
only number and up down should be usebale for channel switching.

this all is just an idea, which seems a nice feature, if one has an 
additional soundcard in his vdr computer, has only one room, and a 
girlfriend watching tv all day *g*
this poor guy can at least listen to music and navigate via osd in his 
mp3 collection.
