I disagree with that, since kernel-drivers also provide include files. In 
fact, the driver includes are kernel include files (they are in a linux/ 
subdirectory).

What I agree with is that VDR could be independent of ANY hardware (also DVB 
stuff), and that would mean to put all DVB-specific code into a PlugIn. But 
that would make things more complicated again if you wanted to setup a 
DVB-only system quickly :)

Most of that dependencies are (apart from DVB) created by PlugIns, not by 
VDR itself, or am I wrong?
