You can find any kind of information concerning linux and dbox2 at
tuxbox.org

At the moment, no. You have to compile it yourself. Look at
cvs.tuxbox.org, cdk/doc  INSTALL.en
After you did a cvs checkout, configuring, compiling (takes about 2-4
hours :) you have to do a make .vdr 
You can then boot the dbox from the computer which holds the compiled
cdk. (look at the tuxbox forum, there you find lot of information on how
to do this)

The osd looks exactly like the one on a pc dvb card (although I do not
have such a card). In contrast to the pc dvb cards the osd is accessed
through the framebuffer driver of the dbox2 and not hardware osd
driver...
