Sascha,
Have you managed to get this to work, and would you be willing to share that with me.
I am building a box based on the allwell 6086n2 and it has the em84xx chip in it.
I am going to document the process of getting this box up and running as a pvr/video/music server. I will post the site address as soon as I have the basics up and running...
Greetings,
James Wilson

I've made good experiences with just setting up all those functions in first
place, then outputting (on stderr) their names and parameter values and look
what happens if you try to use that device from within VDR. This way you will
learn what is called when.

I've made the experience, that when returning a NULL pointer, VDR crashed, and
when returning an empty new cOsdBase(x,y), it said "ERROR: Illegal OSD device
handle" and didn't work either.
But that was with vdr somewhere around 15, maybe that's changed till now.
Greetings,
Sascha Volkenandt
