[vdr] CAM problems - revisited

I was sent a CAM module to investigate the problems some people
have with using their CAMs in combination with the new Link Layer
firmware. From what I have been able to see so far it would appear
that there are different versions of the CiMAX chip built into
these CAM modules.

On all the modules I have (both rev 1.3 and 1.4 - note: this is _not_ the
revision of the DVB-S card, but that of the CAM module, i.e. the card
with the flat ribbon cable that gets connected to the DVB card, and which
takes up the actual PCMCIA CAM) there is a CiMAX 1.0 chip, while on the
one I was sent (rev 1.4) there is a CiMAX 2.0. With that chip I can
reproduce the problem of the CAM failing every few minutes.

So here's what I'd like to know: could those of you who experience problems
running their CAMs with the Link Layer firmware (that's the default
driver version since quite a while - it is especially _not_ the -icam
version) please take a look at their CAM module to see which version of
teh CiMAX chip they contain?

Please report both the revision of your CAM module (that's written on the top
area of the board) and the version of your CiMAX chip.

Mabey this could help in finding a solution...
