Hopefully the key press functions would be overrideable too..  As the
title of this thread suggests I'd like to be able to change what these
buttons do...

The sky digibox OSD is probably quite a good example to base things on,
in general is works well and is simple to use.  It has it's annoyances
too, but they don't have to be implemented... :-)
