Hmm, as I don't use SPDIF myself I can only guess (all AC3/SPDIF specific
things in mplayer.sh are contributions from other people; they said it
works for them).

From your logs I see that every time you try to use AC3 over SPDIF you
get the following error message from mplayer:

> [format] Sample format big endian AC3  not yet supported
> Couldn't find matching filter / ao format!

This seems to be a mplayer problem. Maybe you should ask on the
mplayer-dvb list or perhaps someone here with a working AC3-over-SPDIF
setup has an idea.
