[vdr] Re: Multiple recordings on the same TP

* Klaus Schmidinger <Klaus.Schmidinger@cadsoft.de> [030723 15:24]:

AFAI understand, I can record multiple channels, or record one and watch
any other, while they are on the same transponder, that is, same
frequency and polarization. Am I already wrong?

Let's go on.
Say I have these channels:

If I have understood it correctly, I should be able to record all of
these channels (or watch one while recording in course) at the same
time:

CANAL+:11851:V:S30.0W:27500:160:80,81:32:154:1:49:2:16387
CANAL+ 2:11851:V:S30.0W:27500:168:112,113:56:154:2:49:2:16387
C+ Deporte 3:11851:V:S30.0W:27500:169:116:0:154:9:49:2:16387

or

CANAL+...30:12379:H:S30.0W:27500:167:108,109:53:154:3:49:1:16387
C+ Deporte:12379:H:S30.0W:27500:161:84:0:154:7:49:1:16387
C+ Deporte 2:12379:H:S30.0W:27500:172+162:128:0:154:8:49:1:16387
Cinemanía:12379:H:S30.0W:27500:160:80,81:32:154:10:49:1:16387

Where is my error in thinking this way?
Thanks for the quick response!

Are these FTA channels? Recording more than one channel works
only for FTA channels, not for encrypted channels (I did get a report,
though, that even this should be possible, but wasn't able to reproduce
that yet, therefore currently VDR records only a single encrypted channel).
Oh, now I see the problem. I just tried recording an encrypted channel
on the same TP as FTA and could switch to the free ones while the
recording was taking place.

If I uderstand correctly it now, with more cards I should be able to dot
it, right?
Although I've checked again and I still have the problem of channels H
and V polarized. I sure need a TWIN or QUATRO LNB, but they are more
expensive than a complete new dish with universal LNB.

What would be the most expansible/cheapest way to achieve what I want? A
LNB which separates in AV/AH/BV/BH and a DiSEqC on each card?
How do I know if the channels are low or high? I believe all my channels
are high, so that I'd only need the AV/AH outputs and with simple
DiSEqCs I would have enough, or with a full DiSEqC I could connect
another dish pointing to Astra or Hotbird.

Is there any obvious misconcept in my reasoning?
