I see the same behaviour when recording MTV2 or ARD with a single
DVB card setup. Sat.1 on the other hand, worked flawlessly.

This is very strange... Could you perhaps test older VDR and/or
driver versions to find out whether this was introduced at some point?
I'm afraid I currently won't have the time to do this myself.
