[vdr] exit does sometimes not properly exit
Here my problem as I traced it down so far:
My vdr runs 24/7 and the watch dog hits about 10 times per month saying:
PANIC: watchdog timer expired - exiting!
OK, lets forgive this for now ;-)
The big problem is that in 4 of this 10 times the vdr does not properly exit
and thus can not restart.
Oct 16 11:53:17 vdr vdr[3648]: PANIC: watchdog timer expired - exiting!
Oct 16 11:53:17 vdr noflushd[3798]: Spinning up /dev/hda after 76 minutes.
Oct 16 11:56:24 vdr noflushd[3798]: Spinning down /dev/hda.

ps shows still a lot of vdr processes (don't know if all are still there)
but of course vdr hangs and does nothing until a vdr restart with killall -9
vdr.
Another effect I have (may be it is related may be not) is that very often
after a thread ends properly it remains with a <defunct> in the process
list.
Here my setup:
Suse 8.0 without any patches
vdr 1.2.5
noflushd when not recording
no plugins
350Mhz Intel
Nova
Nexus
Has somebody any idea?
Thanks
