[vdr] Re: DEC 2000-t
Hi Simon,
I\'ve read that the xine plugin for the VDR works proper under Xebian,
have a look, http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/docs/debian.html.
If you use this plungin, you don\'t need a hardware MPEG2 decoder chip.
BTW the x-box is a nice streaming-client for VDR ;-)
Hi folks. I used to be on this list but unsubbed due to lack of time
and lack of cash to set up a VDR box.
I see the USB DVB kit is now supported. This brings about the
possibility of ultra-cheap hardware like the X-Box. However, do you
still need a hardware MPEG decoder for VDR to operate? Can you use
the decoder in the DEC 2000-t?
If those two conditions are satisfied, one could set up an X-Box VDR
system for about 150 pounds. Very tempting!

You might win, but you\'re still retarded.
