Brian, your first reply made me doubt and I make VDR again with REMOTE=LIRC
and VFAT=1.

Still I cannot teach keys to VDR. I must admit, that I am little confused
now as I have tested almost everything even with VDR 1.2.0 and still no
success.

Could you try to rename your config file to something else then .conf and
try to teach LIRC keys again? It might fail, as I have removed all my config
files (except channels.conf).
