[vdr] Re: Black screen time after time

Hi

I have this annoying problem, time after time there is only black
screen with osd available. No sound also. Mainly this happends once a
day. Mostly restarting vdr solve the problem. Sometimes I have also
restart the whole system before everything works OK again. Im not sure
what cause this, bad signal? kernel dvb drivers? something else?

Sorry I forgot to give more detailed specs about my system. Here it is:
VDR 1.3.17 + DVB subtitles plugin (Mandrake 10.1 + technotrend DVB-C 2.1 
premium + 2.6.8.1-12mdk kernel dvb drivers)

Does your box run 7*24h?

- Yes, my box is running 7*24h.

If you get the black screen, can you logon and
do a "top" to see howmuch memory is allocated?

- I have to check it next time when the screen goes black. In normal use 
memory usage seems to be ok.

- Digita broadcasting tv and their EPG streams contains too long strings 
etc... I have informed Digita.fi about this but it seems that they dont 
care or dont know what do. But VDR can handle the stream, so I can 
ignore this one.
