Did this patch apply without rejects?
IMHO no.

The patch above requires 
http://www.escape-edv.de/endriss/dvb/av7110-old-DVB-gpmq-fix.diff
which is not in the 2004-11-17 archive.

Either apply both patches or simply use today's DVB driver snapshot:
http://www.linuxdvb.tv/download/dvb-20041215.tar.bz2
