I did try it only with normal stereo broadcasts, since I don't
know where to find a channel that provides two different audio
channels in the two stereo channels. However, I would assume that
with a headphone one should be able to tell the difference between
stereo and mono...
I think I found a good station for testing on Hotbird. Try the radio
station "eng-WRN-multi"; freq: 12597; vertical; srate: 27500;
apid 2132; sid 8230. This station has normal audio only on left channel and a short beep every 5 seconds on right channel.
I just tried, but there's no beep on the right channel (at least not now).
However, on this channel, when I switch the audio channel (left/stereo/right)
I do experience a slight difference (mostly a difference in the background noise),
while on others there is no difference at all.

I found another channel on this transponder:

CH 1 RUS-ORTi;GlobeCast:12597:vC34:S13.0E:27500:167:108,109:0:0:8208:318:9400:0

This one has two audio PIDs, and on the second one there are two different
speakers on each channel. However, on this channel I don't experience any
change when switching the audio channel. Can you please verify whether you
can?

Which driver/firmware are you using?
One machine with kernel driver (kernel 2.6.5 until yesterday and now kernel 2.6.10), firmware various (today it is 261d); the other machine with driver and firmware from 8.11.2003.

Can you try it with the current CVS version of the DVB driver (not
dvb-kernel)?
If I find the time for that, I will try it in the next days.
If the latest driver and FW as well as that from 8.11.2003 work for you then
I guess it's not a driver/firmware issue.

Klaus
