Timers will always be saved whenever they are modified. Channels will be save whenever the _user_ makes a change to them. Any automatic update will be done just the same when VDR is started next time and tunes to that transponder. What exactly is it that would make it necessary to save channels.conf on exit?
Any new channels, transponders etc, should be saved to channels.conf when they are found. Are they not ?
