I think that before exiting vdr should save channels (and timers?) if ChannelSaveTimeout is not 0.
Timers will always be saved whenever they are modified. Channels will be save whenever the _user_ makes a change to them. Any automatic update will be done just the same when VDR is started next time and tunes to that transponder.
The fact that there are unsaved changes. I was testing the channelscan plugin and I was slightly annoyed that after exiting vdr the changes weren't written to the file. Not a big issue, I can modify vdr myself and/or wait 10 minutes before exiting. What exactly is it that would make it necessary to save channels.conf on exit?
