Different between '#define MAXOSDAREAS 16' and '#define MAXNUMWINDOWS 7'

Hello, why is "#define MAXNUMWINDOWS 7" defined in dvbosd.c and "#define MAXOSDAREAS 16" in osd.h ? Its not the same and only 7 areas possible to create ?? Its a limit to the OSD/card ? Thanks Stefan Franz

Interactive plugins and MENUTIMEOUT since 1.3.32

Hello List, in 1.3.32 the timeout of the menu is now handled in the main loop (vdr.c). this causes some plugins (in this case: channelscan) to be closed after MENUTIMEOUT what is sometimes not wanted... One way would be to make LastActivity global and update it in the plugin, another way would be to introduce a variable e.g. "AutoCloseMenu" in cOsdObject... Is there an "intended" way to suppress this behaviour? Any suggestions? regards, Thiemo

skincurses doesn't work

Hello, How can I use the skincurses plugin? The plugin compiles fine but I get no OSD drawn to the console (neither over a ssh connection nor directly on the console of my vdr server). Do I have to activate this plugin somehow? My setup is a epia-m w/ ff-dvb-s card. no tv connected. freshly installed gentoo linux (but with ncurses installed). latest VDR (1.3.33) and kernel-2.6.12-r10 Thanks, Thomas

only the first 9 lines from commands.conf can be linked from keymacros.conf

I have in keymacros.conf Red Recordings #Green Schedule Green Commands 5 Yellow Commands 3 #Blue Timers Blue Commands 4 User1 Commands 6 User2 Commands 7 User3 Commands 8 User4 Commands 9 #User5 Commands 10 #User6 Commands 11 #User7 Commands 12 I would like to use the last 3 lines as well, but then vdr doesn't start. Obviously only keys 1-9 are accepted, but not 10-12. Is there a solution? Jörg

[bug vdr-1.3.33] "Error while accessing recording" after deleting

Hi Klaus, I've tracked down a nasty "Error while accessing recording!" / "Fehler beim Ansprechen der Aufzeichnung!" OSD message, occurring sometimes when deleting recordings in sub folders. This only occurs if the deleted file was the first one that was added to that sub folder - and maybe some other conditions. Thats what imho happens: -The file gets removed from OSD menu, Recordings list and disk. -cMenuRecordings::ProcessKey(kNone) triggers a Set() update of the current menu. -After that, ProcessKey(kNone) of the main recordings menu triggers a second Set() for the main recordings menu. -The second Set() call tries to remember the currently selected menu entry (the currently open sub-menu) by calling GetRecording() for it. -GetRecording tries to find the matching recording by comparing file names. -Folders use the file name of one of their recordings as dummy, and, by bad luck, this one is the one that was just deleted. -GetRecordings fails and throws the error. Something similar should happen if the currently selected menu item gets externally deleted, but thats less likely. Cheers, Udo

Hi, retuning on coderateL change, comes here in Berlin quite often. The attached diff fixes that. It could be that this is an error on provider side, but usual set top boxes don't show this behavior. vdr-1.3.33, .update detection broken if recording dir != /video

I just found that the .update detection is broken for me with vdr-1.3.33. I performed and strace on vdr and it is not using the correct recording location: stat("/video/.update", 0x7fffffc1e0d0) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) I place my recordings in /video0 using "-v /video0". It looks like the problem is the change which adds the assignment of updateFileName into the constructor of cRecordings: cRecordings Recordings; cRecordings::cRecordings(bool Deleted) :cThread("video directory scanner") { updateFileName = strdup(AddDirectory(VideoDirectory, ".update")); It looks like the Recordings object is instantiated before the VideoDirectory has been parsed from the commandline, hence updateFileName always points to the default VIDEODIR. [bug vdr-1.3.33] invalid LastReplayed() opens first folder

Hi Klaus, I've found a minor bug in the new cMenuRecordings. If the recordings menu is opened with OpenSubMenus=true and with cReplayControl::LastReplayed() pointing to a non-existing recording, VDR descends into the first recording sub menu, provide that the first recording menu item is a sub-menu, not a recording. Steps to reproduce: -Make sure the first entry in recordings is a folder, eg. record something to AAA~BBB~CCC -Play some recording DDD~EEE and stop it -Externally delete/move the DDD~EEE recording (deleting inside VDR doesn't trigger this) -touch .update -Enter recordings menu with direct remote key Actual result: Recording sub menu AAA~BBB is opened, CCC is selected. Expected result: Recording main menu opened, AAA selected. Cool enhanced result: Open the DDD sub menu if it still exists. Background: I think, the idea was that Set() selects the proper item, or keeps Current()<0 otherwise, so the Open() in cMenuRecordings::cMenuRecordings() is never called. However, the Display() in Set() automatically selects First() as fallback. The 'if (Current() < 0)' test in the constructor will never be triggered because of that. Cheers, Udo

starting vdr with analogtv, what should happen?

Hi, i just installed vdr-1.3.33 and analogtv-0.9.37 (with one include path fix). I also patched vdr with the patch from analogtv for vdr-1.3.0. When i start up vdr, i now get the log below, but nothing happens. I start this under X11 in a bash shell. vdr takes key presses and can be stopped by Ctrl-C. How do i get a screen, how to go on from here?
