[ANNOUNCE] ExtRecMenu-Plugin 1.0

Hi, I'm proud to announce version 1.0 of my ExtRecMenu-plugin. Here the changes since version 0.13: - it is now possible to cancel a moving-between-filesystems-process - applied changes for MainMenuHooksPatch - added MainMenuHooksPatch to contrib/-dir; removed old one, which is now obsolete - free disk space is shown for the filesystem of the current directory (can be switched of in plugin's setup menu) - added support for hidding PIN-protected recordings in co-work with PIN-Plugin - added queue for moving recordings between filesystems - added cutter queue - added #ifdef's to switch of font patching for vdr >= 1.5.3 - added setup option to switch of font patching What is the ExtRecMenu-plugin? This plugin for VDR provides an extended recordings menu. In addition to the functions of VDR's recordings menu it provides: * renaming recordings and directories * moving recordings and directories, also between different filesystems * reworked layout using icons for showing the status of list entries (directory, new recording, moving recording/directory, cutting recording, dvd archiv entry) * adjustable display of recording's length, date and size * directories are always shown on top of the list * extended recordings info menu, shows name, path, channel, size, lifetime and priority of the recording * free disk space is shown for the filesystem of the current directory * sorting by name or date, adjustable for each directory; type of sorting will be stored * ascending/descending sorting * extends VDR's '-r'-option commands with 'move' and 'rename' * functionality of the DVDArchive-patch * protecting recordings in co-work with the PIN-plugin * a cutter queue Download and screenshots: http://martins-kabuff.de/extrecmenu_en.html Greets, Martin

Hi, I'm pleased to announce maintenance release 0.7.12 today, which adds support for VDR-1.5.10. You can find it on my homepage: http://home.vr-web.de/~rnissl >From HISTORY: 2007-10-17: Version 0.7.12 - Updated INSTALL and MANUAL accordingly. - Added support for VDR-1.5.10's new key kSubtitles and fixed a deadlock due to setting audio volume when changing the primary device. - Added a new configuration option "Connection interacts with EIT scanner" as requested by Boguslaw Juza (see MANUAL for details). - Added some patches to xine-lib regarding H.264 support, as FFmpeg's decoder improved very much during the past weeks. It supports now multithreaded decoding (you need to enable at least 2 threads in xine-ui to make use of it) and almost complete PAFF support which is used for interlaced images. These new features are only available, when xine-lib is configured to use an external FFmpeg installation. - Added support for VDR-1.5.9's OSD levels. - Fixed compiler warnings when compiled with gcc-4.2.x (thanks to Joerg Bornkessel for suppling the patch). - Exchanged noSignal.pes (thanks to Markus Nissl for supplying the new image). 2007-08-30: Version 0.7.11 - Added preliminary support for OSD changes in VDR-1.5.9. - Added preliminary support for H.264 streams. xine uses FFmpeg for H.264 decoding and as the decoder isn't rock stable at the moment and doesn't support all H.264 features like interlacing, it is likely that some frames do not get decoded or moreover that xine crashes. - Removed some unnecessary calls to clear xine's buffer when switching between pause and play. - Spent a lot of time fixing some issues in xine-lib. Integrated a big bunch of my xine-lib patch into xine-lib-1.1.8. All patches are now part of xine-lib-1.2. - Added the opportunity to change xine's volume in software, like when changing xine's config option gui.audio_mixer_method to Software (thanks to Halim Sahin for the request). - Added the possibility to configure different zoom settings for 4:3 and 16:9 images, which are automatically activated when xine signals a format change (thanks to Detlef Nebermann for the request). Output methods and WSS

I am always having some problems like stuttering with FF card and now restart problems with DXR card (sometimes while in menu vdr stops and restarts) and thus I would like to have oppinions and suggestions. And also information. Therefore these two questions: 1. In which different video output methods is WSS signal carried out? I know it comes out from FF card and AVS7170 based DXR card but how about others? 2. And what would be the best output method? BR \\Kartsa

Even though *I* use it in my productive environment, I strongly recommend that you only use it under controlled conditions and for testing and debugging. The changes since version 1.5.9: - Implemented handling DVB subtitles (thanks to Marco Schlüßler, and also to Pekka Virtanen for writing the subtitle plugin, which helped in implementing subtitle handling in VDR). - The new remote control key "Subtitles" can be used to bring up the list of available subtitles. - The new setup option "DVB/Subtitle languages" can be used to define the preferred languages for subtitles. - Fixed selecting the audio track when pressing Ok in the Audio menu (thanks to Marco Schlüßler). - Implemented display of DVB subtitles in live viewing mode. - Implemented subtitle track selection. - Implemented bitmap color reduction and shrinking to display subtitles even on devices that can't display the necessary number of colors. - Added compatibility mode for playback of recordings made with the subtitles plugin (with some help from Rolf Ahrenberg). - The new setup option "DVB/Subtitle offset" can be used to shift the location of the subtitles in the vertical direction. - The new setup options "DVB/Subtitle foreground/background transparency" define an additional level of transparency for the foreground and background color of subtitles. - Existing recordings made with the subtitle plugin can be given an 'X' record in their info.vdr file, so that subtitles can be automatically selected upon replay, according to the preferred language setup, as in X 3 03 ger deutsch (see vdr.5). Note that these entries need to be added in the proper sequence, so that they correspond with the actual track languages in the recording. - Now generating translation files without line numbers to avoid unnecessarily large diffs. Plugin authors may want to replace the -F option with --no-location in the xgettext and msgmerge calls in their Makefiles. - Updated the Finnish OSD texts (thanks to Rolf Ahrenberg). - Added a missing Channels.SetModified(true) call when deleting or moving a channel in the Channels menu (reported by Halim Sahin). - Fixed a missing '-' at the next to last line of SVDRP help texts (reported by Denis Knauf). - Added a missing SetVolumeDevice() call in cDevice::SetPrimaryDevice() (reported by Reinhard Nissl). - Fixed a crash when pressing Left while at the first character of a cMenuEditStrItem (thanks to Christian Wieninger). - Only creating a new cDvbOsdProvider in cDvbDevice::MakePrimaryDevice() if 'On' is true (i.e. this device is being made the primary device). - Updated the Italian OSD texts (thanks to Diego Pierotto). - Fixed handling reallocated memory in cCharSetConv::Convert() (reported by Udo Richter). - Fixed a new[]/delete mismatch in cMenuEditStrItem::LeaveEditMode() (thanks to Udo Richter). - Implemented sending all frames to devices that can handle them in fast forward trick speeds (thansk to Timo Eskola). - Updated the Hungarian language texts (thanks to Thomas Günther). - Fixed description of DeviceSetAvailableTrack() and cReceiver(), and added an example ~cMyReceiver() in PLUGINS.html (thanks to Marco Schlüßler). - Improved the description of where logging goes in the INSTALL file (thanks to Elias Luttinen). - Added a note about how to initiate internationalization support to the README.i18n file. The Makefile generated by the 'newplugin' script now has the 'i18n' target automatically create an initial 'po/pluginname.pot' file. Plugin authors may want to add the '$(I18Npot)' dependency to the 'i18n' target in their Makefiles, as in i18n: $(I18Npot) $(I18Nmo) (based on a suggestion by Torsten Kunkel). - Removed a duplicate ',' from the ca_ES.po file (thanks to Thomas Günther). - Added the 'ß' character to the "allowed charcaters" in the de_DE.po file (suggested by Thomas Günther). - Made the default copy ctor of cRecording private (thanks to Markus Hahn). Not good behaviour from vdr

Hi! Yesterday, here at Southern Finland one of the TV channels had "cut out" at DVB stream (like half hour). And because that stream disapeared little after than recoding has started, VDR started to restart itself every minute because there was no stream... What is point to that, that VDR do restart IF there is no stream what it should record.. That affected to all other recordings too because vdr was restarting itself constantly. Not good! Is there "setting" somewhere where you can say that "do not" restart if there is no stream. -- JJussi

Thank you Klaus for the Subtitles. I have been hoping for this since I first started using vdr some years ago. (I can handle English and German speaking films quite well, but Akira Kurosawa's masterpieces are quite difficult without subtitles.) Since I know you don't need the subtitles I am very gratefull for your effort on this! And a big thank you to Pekka Virtanen whose subititles plugin made it possible for me to use the vdr during these years. Now I just have to find a slot when no one in my family is using the vdr so I can upgrade it. Concurrent LNB-patch for 1.5?

[PATCH] Make kPlay start playback from recording list

Hello, After about three years of VDR use, I still quite often try to start playback of a recording from the recordings view using the play button, swear for a bit, and then hit ok. I couldn't think of a reason why play wouldn't start the playback, so here's a tiny patch against VDR 1.4.7 that implements it.

2 dvb-s cards with different feeds

I would like to know if its possible to have two dvb-s cards connected to different disecq setups? For example, for card 1 to have: 1 - HotBird 2 - Astra 19 3 - Astra 28 Whereas, card 2 would have: 1 - Hotbird 2 - Astra 19 Without it all going pear shaped? If so, how do you reflect that in the setup?
