CAM/CI Dumb Question

Hi I'm looking to use a budget DVB-C card with a CAM/CI module to watch/decrypt. I've used a DVB-T card to watch FTA channels, and really liked the ability to watch/record any combination of channels within the same boquet/TS. Question is, when you're using a CAM to decrypt channels, can it decrypt multiple channels simultaneously like the above for FTA??? Thanks Simon

VDR gets stuck in a reload-loop

Hi I have recently updated from VDR 1.2.6 to 1.4.6 I have the problem that once VDR emergency exists, for whatever reason, it never gets the recording started again in time, so it emergency exists again and again until the recording has ended. If i manually disable the timer, wait a few seconds and reenable timer the recording works. Added note: It is an encrypted channel and the CAM-found-message always appears a few seconds after VDR started, but before VDR tunes the channel and starts the timer. A few seconds later a: 'ERROR: no useful data seen within 10498860 byte of video stream' message appears and VDR emergency exists. According to UPDATE-1.4.0 VDR supposedly has to wait for the CAM to be initialized before it starts a recording, but it doesn't appear to do so for me. I have my own start-script, which does about the same as the runvdr example. (It reloads the driver before VDR is started again) Until a few minutes ago it didn't start VDR with the watchdog-parameter, which i added after looking into the runvdr-example. Bis denn -- Real Programmers consider "what you see is what you get" to be just as bad a concept in Text Editors as it is in women. No, the Real Programmer wants a "you asked for it, you got it" text editor -- complicated, cryptic, powerful, unforgiving, dangerous.

plugin writing - need help with C

Hi. I'm modifying a non-published pvrinput variation which sends IR commands to a set box box - specifically, the channel number stored in channels.conf. 12345J2:6:C12:C:0:301:300:305:A1:62006:0:1009:0 FOODJ2:63:C12:C:0:301:300:305:A1:62008:0:1019:0 ^^ - channel number to send to external digi-box It works fine, sending single-digit channel numbers but fails to send double digit. i.e. channels 1-9 are ok, but 10+ fail. This fails because there are only codes in the lircd.conf for 0-9. Problem with epg PUTE

I'm having problems processing epg into VDR. General info: Softdevice plugin enables vdr to run on your desktop with so called budget cards. You'll get vdr output via framebuffer or X11-Xv or DirectFB or vidix to your screen. Decoding is done via ffmpeg. Support of vdr versions earlier than vdr-1.3.7 has been removed. xmltv2vdr 1.0.6 "channel=" problems

Hi - I've been using xmltv2vdr for years. It's great! I'm now getting my xml EPG from a different source, and am having problems getting the perl script to run properly. My perl knowledge is poor (to say the least!!) The problem is, the epg xml I'm getting has the "channel=" at the wrong end of the "<programme" sequence. So instead of: <programme start="20070412060000 +1200" stop="20070412061000 +1200" channel="1031.dvb.guide"> it has : <programme channel="1031.dvb.guide" start="20070412060000 +1200" stop="20070412061000 +1200"> This results in the wrong SVRDP messages being produced. I get: CLRE PUTE C C-0-112250-1796 TV1-Cable E 0 0 1176231600 0 T Breakfast D Breakfast e c . so no program ID# and the start/duration is broken. I've tested this by manually changing a programme sequence in the xml, moving the "channel=" to the end - and it works fine. [PATCH] limit streamdev client's ringbuffer timeouts to more sane values

Well, the streamdev-client reads data from a ringbuffer and when there isn't anything to read it tries to sleep for 1us and loops. This wasn't a problem when the timer resolution was in the 1000..10000us range (1000..100Hz); the usleep(1) call slept for one or more milliseconds. With the high-res timers in kernel 2.6.21+ usleep(1) is no longer treated as usleep(10000) and the streamdev client is almost unusable; it uses most of the cpu and causes hundreds of thousands context switches per second. updated slavemode patch for mplayer plugin

After building the latest SVN today of the mplayer source, I noticed that the slavemode patch from the vdr-mp3-plugin did not apply anymore. Here is an attached working version of the patch for current SVN of mplayer. Best Regards.

Full Screen button for vdr-sxfe

Any way of getting a full screen / windows toggle button for vdr-sxfe (xineliboutput)? I am assuming this is a question for more than just xineliboutput.. What I'd like is a lirc/keyboard command (full screen) which will toggle the behaviour. I am happy to retro edit it into remote.conf.
