new rolloff paramemter in channels.conf for vdr 1.7.0

Hi As Manu explained me it's not possible to set manually rolloff/FEC for stb0899. that's why I'm wondering - what for need the new roll off (parameter O) parameter in channels.conf ? Only for reading the current state of roll off in demod ? (0,35% is default for dvb-s/s2 BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK) Is work really ? Goga

Failed to read channels.conf after adding transponder

Hi Klaus & list, Today I had an unexpected parse error in my channels.conf, in this line: Test Feed;Test Feed:10920:hC56M2O0S0:S19.2E:22000:0:0:0:0:0:1:1063:0 The line was added by automatic transponder scan yesterday. The 'bug' of this channel is that the SID (4'th last) is 0, triggering tChannelID::Valid() to be false. By now, the channel is announced correctly like this: Test Feed;Test Feed:10920:hC56M2O0S0:S19.2E:22000:601:0:0:D02,1815:20351:1:1063:0 The core problem however is that the channel was added without completely checking validity first. Adding a check for Valid() to cChannels::NewChannel() probably solves this issue. (not tested) Until this is fixed, its probably a good idea to disable channel updates for VDR systems that run mostly un-monitored. (Holiday season is near!) Cheers, Udo

Hi, my HDTV setup : xineliboutput cvs ( today ) xine-lib-1.2-hg ( today ) ffmpeg svn ( today ) vdr 1.7.0 + reinhadrs patches ubuntu hardy 8.04.1 amd64 intel core2duo the xineliboutput sequfaults on this setup. i tryed the same setup on hardy 8.04.1 i386. there it works. cu Edgar (gimli) Hucek

Hi is it possible to listen on vdr with mp3 (or some other) plugin the Internet radio in Windows Media Audio (WMA) format ? For testing purposes, a new version of my plugins' development branch is available. Xineliboutput: segfault when started via init

Transponder tuning problems with Nova-TD and Nova-T 500

Hello there, I have the following problem with my Nova-TD USB stick: I'm using vdr 1.6.0 with kernel 2.6.26. If I start a recording on 1 tuner and at the same time on the other tuner there is a transponder change by vdr's epgscan, I get: syslog:Jul 13 07:46:17 etch-server vdr: [5395] PES packet shortened to 3286 bytes (expected: 3470 bytes) This happens also when I start vdr with only 1 tuner, starting 1 recording on this tuner and starting a channelscan with w_scan via command line. If I use the dummydevice plugin, the PES errors occurs without a recording. When a recording starts, the PES errors are gone. When I disable EPGScan in setup.conf everything is ok. It seems that changing the transponder disturb the other tuner with the running recording. I tested this with a Nova-TD and Nova-T 500, 3 different MoBos and a Laptop, Kernel 2.6.20 (with v4l-dvb HEAD), 2.6.25 and 2.6.26. Any ideas?

extending VDR to support external Media software

Hi,I have a question regarding the best way to extend VDR functionality to support a certain feature. I've got a linux server running a recording software called SageTV. The server is connected to two set top boxes that feature hardware MPEG4 decoding. Although most of the functionality of SageTV is quite nice, it can't compare to VDR features when it comes to dealing with DVB-S recording. Having used VDR in my previous setup, I would like to integrate SageTV with VDR, so I get the best of both worlds, i.e. hardware decoding/user interface of sagetv, stability/DVB features of VDR. SageTV provides a simple API for using external recorders, which requires the external recorder to listen on a TCP port and record a PS stream to a file given by sagetv. My question is: What is the most straightforward way to implement this in VDR ? Is it better to adapt an existing plugin like streamdev, or is it simple enough to write a plugin from scratch for this purpose? Is there some documentation available on how to use the VDR api ? I would greatly appreciate any hints in this matter. Thank you, Markus
