After some research I started sniffing the stream with dvbsnoop and I found the language setting for DMAX, it is DEU. Now I've got to sniff some more to make my list complete. According to the iso is should be 'ger' I think but I found it, so it will be soon in my client. Greetz

Hello, perhaps I have forgotten to point out, that I'm talking about a setup without FF-Card but with xine-plugin or softhddevice. So I can't point the primaryDevice (the one that displays the menu) to a dvb-device, can't I? Regarding MAX- and LIVEPRIORITY: as far as I understand the code (and thats not too far...), these constants are taken in account when actually claiming devices for recording or showing live-TV. Give live TV more priority than getting EPG

Hi All, I have 3 DVB-T receivers. Sometimes when I record 2 TV shows (from 2 different transports) I cannot watch live a TV show from a third transport. When I restart vdr, I am able to record on 2 transports, and watch live TV from the 3rd transport. I suspect vdr was using the 3rd receiver to get EPG data. Is there a way to configure vdr so it stops collecting EPG when all receivers are needed for recording / watching TV? Best regards, Cedric

Special Character problems

Hi, I did an apt-get update at the weekend on my Ubuntu with VDR 1.7.33 system. Now the special characters in the recording menu in front of the channel number are incorrect. Other text and epg data seems to be OK. I am using UTF-8 localhost vdr: [3358] codeset is 'UTF-8' - known and was also using UTF before the update. I guess this field should be blank or an arrow ">", currently I have small boxes, "+" and "|" characters. Anyone happen to know this problem? Cheers Brian

hello . is there plugin like softhdevice for vdr ? if yes . how i install it . i have problem with softhddevice. my broadcasting video format is 4:3 , and when i change it to 16:9 in setting vdr . it don't work . now i looking for another plugin replace softhddevice . Thank you .

NEWT checks for similiar timers, MODT does not

Hi, I noticed the following when using SVDRP: With the command NEWT, you can't create a timer if there already exists a timer for the same channel, day, start time and stop time. But you can create some dummy timer and then use the MODT command to make it identical to the existing timer. Here is a sample session: malte@spiro:~$ telnet louie 6419 Trying 10.0.1.208... Looking at svdrp.c and timers.c, cSVDRP::CmdNEWT will use cTimers::GetTimer to look for an existing timer, cSVDRP::CmdMODT does not seem to perform a check. I'm not sure about the rationale. Is there a way to get the language of a EPG transmission? For the Motorola client I need to set the EPG language of a channel before caching it. Most channels work, like ARD/ZDF but Deluxe Music (& SKY D) don't get EPG with language set to 'ger'. So can I log the (raw) EPG info from VDR so I can set the language. Greetz Martin
