I'm releasing a simple softphone as a vdr plugin. This plugin is available at http://club.telepolis.com/l.o/vdr/
From the README file:
This plugin is a very simple (read: not very featureful and hopefully with an high WAF ;-) softphone using the iax protocol (asterisk server). It uses the iaxclient library (http://iaxclient.sourceforge.net) to handle every details of the call, so the plugin is just an user interface. It needs a free (i.e it isn't used by something else, like a softdevice plugin), full-duplex sound card.
Enjoy
Luca,
great thing. Unfortunately, I am not using a sound card in my VDR. Are you using a microphone or a headset? Can you dial via the OSD?
BTW, I have developed a plugin that permits browsing of Asterisk voicemails...

I suppose you can plug an usb one
Are you using a microphone or a headset?
One of those multimedia headphones with a microphone. I actually had to build a simple mic preamplifier, since the mic input in my motherboard is awful (http://www.pablin.com.ar/electron/circuito/audio/premic/ but I used a different transistor)
Can you dial via the OSD?
sure, but only numbers, for everything else you have to use the phonebook (that you have to edit manually but it's visible on the osd).

well, I actually wrote the plugin to use voipbuster ;-)

Wonna share it?
I never announced it on this list because there were some reports about instabilities that I cannot reproduce. In case you are still interested (you've been warned ;-) ) look here:
