The real fix is proper sysfs support for the input subsystem.
Dmitry Torokhov works on this and has posted preliminary
patches to lkml. It will take a few more months until this
is available in a release kernel, though.
As a temporary measure I think it's best to patch the
Ubuntu script with the other card names.
