Hardware requirements

Here are some example configurations (Please supplement):

  • PIII 550 MHz / 512 MB / Matrox G550 mit vidix, Jerky with OSD or deinterlaceing
  • Athlon 800 MHz / 512 MB / ATI Radeon VE, jerky at higher resolutions
  • P4 2.8 GHz HT / 512 MB / Matrox G550 mit xshm, HDTV: jerky with OSD, deinterlaceing or window size > 50%
  • PII 400MhZ / 256 MB / NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 480, nearly smooth with XvMC - sadly there is no OSD, with Xv it is not even jerky
  • Athlon 1800 / 512 MB / NV Gf Ti 4200, smooth with Xv for DVB, system load < 10%
  • EPIA-M 10000 / 512 MB / CLE266 with unichrome MPEG2 HW acceleration, system load 10-15%, smooth
  • EPIA-M 6000 / 512 MB / CLE266 with unichrome MPEG2 HW acceleration; xine cpu usage is around 32%, ... with OSD around 36%, ... with femon around 47%; smooth

Options

Option Description
SET_VIDEO_WINDOW=1 Full yaepg-plugin compatibility
DONT_CHANGE_XINE_VOLUME=1 deactivate volume changes in xine
OSD_SCALING_MODE=0 LQ = low quality for minimum CPU usage
OSD_SCALING_MODE=1 HQ = higher quality for horizontal resolutions >= 360
OSD_SCALING_MODE=2 SHQ = best quality but high CPU load
OSD_SCALING_MODE=3 auto SHQ = chooses SHQ for streams where width < 360 or height < 288 otherwise HQ
