Supported cards?

Sorry to be a bit of a noob but is this listing supposed to show what current cards are supported? I ask because I see a card listed here that is not listed on Supported DVB cards. If this is the case would it be ok to specifically spell this out at the head of this list? Thanks. (Netscott) 18:18, 19 February 2007 (CET)

Hello Netscott,
Yes, it showed up on the my watchlist :) ...the wiki has a low rate of user traffic, so I doubt many others would notice ... Anyway, I actually saw your submits, and your spoken aloud question, via the 'recent changes' navigation item on the left first.

Ideally, what this wiki article (DVB-S PCI Cards) should do is quickly convey to the reader:
- which cards are supported
- and, secondarily, I would also like to maintain an unsupported list too.

For the supported cards, I envision a quick run down on basic features of the card, and then provide a link to an article page for each individual card, where more specifics can be related (config info, driver info, hardware info etc etc ... the stuff that can help end users trying to get the card working). For the unsupported devices, I think perhaps just the name and link to an article page for the card -- and on the unsupported card's individual article page, info which would be helpful towards development can be related there.

In the coming weeks I'll slowly be updating things. When Johannes gets a chance, he will be updating the wiki software, and I'm hoping that it will have a bunch of built-ins that I'm seeking that may aide the "beautification aspect of the site.

At present, things are, ummmm, kind of messy around here. One of the main areas that really needs work is pure content on the individual devices.

As for the "supported DVB cards" article, it is (as my message at its top states) depreciated....and, in particular, its highly redundant. Anyway, I'm not sure what you wanted to spell out exactly in this (DVB-S PCI Cards) article -- if you figure it will be helpful, then by all means go for it! Bear in mind that I'm going to be moving all the non duplicate info from the "supported DVB cards" article to the relevant areas (dvb-c,t,s,atsc) and individual device pages over the coming weeks as time permits.

Time is the big thing ... it takes a lot of time. Cheers CityK 07:30, 20 February 2007 (CET)

Thanks for the response CityK...I've just updated the heading language to spell this out. Please don't hesitate to do any clarifying as needed. (Netscott) 08:56, 20 February 2007 (CET)
