DVB-S PCI Budget card by Hauppauge

The WinTV-Nova brand has been established by Hauppauge to determine the new cheaper decoderless PCI cards. Over the years several revisions were released. All are based on the SAA7146 PCI bridge, most used STV0299 Demodulators, either in Alps BSRU6 or Philips SU1278 tuner modules.

All of them are well-supported. Due to the limitations of the quite oldfashioned hardware there may exist some quirks when using many cards in a system or when you need to access Transponders with very low Symbol Rates.

In most systems and for average users these cards work satisfactorily, the Linux drivers are well-tested and robust.

There is also a NOVA-s with Common Interface, see WinTV NOVA-CI PCI

There is also a NOVA-s-Plus (Model 794) which is currently not supported. The Drivers are ready since May 2005, but the developer did not have the OK from Conexant to ship it.
