A USB1.1 DVB-T device designed by Technotrend and sold by Hauppauge. Based on a Texas Instruments DSP that remultiplexes the stream into a Technotrend-proprietary USB packet format and sends it as Isochronous USB Stream over the USB Bus.

As Tuner Module a Alps TDMB7 with CX22700 Demodulator (made by Conexant Systems, Inc.) is used.

Due to the limited USB1.1 Bus Bandwidth of about 12MBit only selected PIDs can get transferred over the USB Bus to the Host. Some High-Bandwidth Transponders don't work, HDTV receiption is not possible.

Linux driver exists. Requires a Firmware that needs to get peeled out of the Windows Driver. A similiar DVB-S device is available, the WinTV-NOVA-S USB.

Since May 2005 (or so) there's a new Nova-T USB2 which works! (see below)

New Version

Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T USB2 - a new high speed USB2 version that works with the latest dvb-utils (DiBcom 3000P) and Linux 2.6.12rc3 kernel. Ive got it going on Slackware, so it must be easy elsewhere. Got the info via http://www.mythtv.info/moin.cgi/WinTV_2dNOVA_2dT_2dUSB_2d2
