I am Alexandre-Xavier Labonté-Lamoureux, a software engineering student at ÉTS.

I am a C, C++, C#, Java, PHP and Python programmer. I also program BASH and Batch scripts. I have experience with ASP.Net Web Forms and MVC web pages, Java servlets and JSP. Of course, I also write HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I learn very fast. The next language I may want to learn is Lua.

I have a lot of experience with Windows and Linux systems. I am at ease to make changes to the Linux Kernel and recompile it. I have a lot of interest in the V4L driver and I'm working to add support for more hardware. I have two EasyCaps, an August VGB100, an Oupree UVC2900, a FEBON100, an Ion Video 2 PC and a StarTech svid2usb23.

I like to document my findings, create tutorials, update wikis and discover bugs. Sharing my knowledge is important and open source (free software) is of great significance. I have made a lot of contributions to the Doom Wiki and open source projects such has Chocolate-Doom. Engineering and reverse-engineering are my things. I must say that I'm really good at testing and finding bugs. I'm good with networks and I have a huge interest in security.

I have my own projects hosted on my GitHub. I also have a YouTube channel. You can visit my public Google Drive.

My native language is French.

My TODO list

  • Document my StarTech svid2usb23
  • Document my Ion Video 2 PC (it may use the same hardware as the above card) + don't forget to note that there's an older version that uses another chip
  • Document the OPR-HD879 (Oupree UVC2900)
  • Document the FEBON100 (link is blacklisted, remove the space in the link: http://febon.blog spot.com/2012/02/1.html)
  • Add info about the August VGB100 where is belongs. Find the Chipset. There is a list of chips and boards here.
  • Delete this TODO list and "My pages" when I'm done with all the points above in this list.
  • Buy this: Hauppauge USB-Live-2
  • Review my devices in a Youtube video
  • Reverse engineer some devices and write their drivers. Do a video to show other people how to do this.
  • Fix bugs that occur with my devices.
