Why not, should be possible. Minimal linux should work with at least 4 MB
Ramdisk; well you only have to include that files you really need (/lib
some things from /bin, /etc ...). That minimal systems that boot from
a single 1,44MB disk are available on the web. I remember of a minimal
linux ISDN router; mentioned in one of the last ct's, but have no link
at my fingertips sorry...
