[linux-dvb] DTV - New (minor) Release 1.1

Hi,

I am proud to announce the second public release of DTV. This (minor) release is
primarly intended to add some really important features (Diseqc, Cable).
Additionally a preview version of user-definable menus is included to enable
people of playing around with such a feature. Of course some bugs have been
removed also. Finally 'dtv_scan' now supports VDR-style 'channel.conf' output.
As I did not test some of the features with older releases of the driver
(especially the new tuning scheme could cause problems), it is heavily
recommended to use the newest DVB 0.9 (CVS) drivers available. DTV now works
with the smaller OSD memory provided by the driver since some weeks, despite the
fact, that especially videotext does not really improve with its reduced size.

The main additonal features of the second publically released version 1.1 are:

   - Full QAM (cable receiption) and DISEQC support (only with DVB 0.9 (CVS)).
   - Added template transponder definitions for some satellites and german cable
   - User definable menus (dynamically, can be used to modify the menus of a
running dtv via TCP link. Targeted applications are E-Mail notification
and reading, answering machine control (together with vbox or mgetty))
   - Added some new configuration parameters (see dtv.conf template)
   - new parameter '-current' for several commands to support user menus
   - new DCL commands 'out_message' and 'out_text' to directly print to
     the OSD by command
   - enabled 'dtv_scan' to generate a VDR-compliant 'channel.conf' file
** Comment to this feature: Due to the nature of DVB broadcastings
'dtv_scan' cannot garantuee to find all channels as VDR needs them
to know. For NVOD and Linkage channels (PW Cinedom/Superdom/F1) only
the main channel can be found (which is not very interesting for VDR,
as it contains no audio/video stream). Additionally only channels that
broadcast at the moment of the scan are scanned with the correct
audio/video PID. All this is due to the fact, that the standard
specifies only the service PID (called pnr in VDR) as the unique
identifier for a channel. Audio and video PID are just temporary
numbers, which are known to the receiver through parsing the
appropriate PMT table (part of DVB-SI information stream).
   - Bug fixes: * NVOD program information now stays after choosing a channel
                * Videotext messages appear now (starting or error)
                * Videotext page selection cannot be disturbed by incoming
pages of the current number anymore
                * Videotext device does not interfere I/O anymore (log-file)
                * corrected SAT.1 to Sat.1 in create_eventdb.pl

The release is under Gnu GPL, the project is hosted by SourceForge.Net with
the Name hesdvb. The tarball of DTV can be downloaded from:
