[linux-dvb] DVB-S for video recording/playback

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone in here know if and how it is possible to
connect a normal video(composite/rgb/svideo..) signal to the card
somewhere to record that stream in mpeg2. If this is possible it will
make the dvb-s card great for video editing too !!

Another question i had is if it's possible to use the card for mpeg2
encoding. (speeding up divx->mpeg2 encoding). I'm currently using tmpegenc
to encode my divx movies to mpeg2 and then use linux's driver to play
that mpeg2 back using my dvb-s card on television, quality is great. The
only painfull thing is rebooting into windows for the divx->mpeg2 encoding
(i can't find any divx->mpeg2 encoder for linux .. anyone else has one??)

thx in advance,
Akke
