[linux-dvb] New UK DVB-T channels testing
Hello,
If UK DVB-T users haven't discovered this yet, the three "dead" multiplexes
(B, C and D) have come alive again all over the UK - using QAM 16, and Code
Rate 3/4.
Service Information is being broadcast for the new channels that will launch
officially on 30th October.
In addition, Mux B (the BBC's new Mux) is currently broadcasting some BBC
radio stations (including Five Live, 1Xtra and 6Music).
The other three multiplexes are still using the old QAM 64 parameters, but at
least Mux 1 (the BBC's oriiginal mux) will switch to QAM 16 at some point in
the near future. This gives a much more stable reception, but with a
decrease in bandwidth (24Mbit/s to 18 Mbit/s).
The CVS versions of dvbtune and dvbstream allow you to specify the qam and
code rate on the command-line. see http://sourceforge.net/project/dvbtools/
Regards,
Dave.
