Same problem for me. But I think the CPU time is used by the new VDR version
and not by the driver.

Have a Pentium 166 running fine with vdr-1.0.4. While recording CPU usage for
all VDR threads together is never bigger than 10%.

When I use vdr-1.1.13 with the new driver
siemens_dvb-0.9.4-2002-06-23.patch.tar.bz2 I have a VDR thread with 75%,
another one with 15% and one with 10%. So it's using almost all CPU time.
Also get distortions on the screen and buffer empty messages in syslog.

Hope that it is possible to find a solution for this, because I really liked
to reuse my old hardware for such a nice VDR.
