[linux-dvb] Nova-T is being dicky.

<sigh> :)

It used to work. I don't know what changed... I'd like to blame the
problems on the BBC changing from QAM64/FEC2_3 to QAM/FEC3_4, but I
don't know if that change has even happened up here (Southport, served
by Winter Hill.)

I've rolled my own kernel (2.4.18) and included 'videodev',
'i2c-core', 'input' and 'evdev'. Should I be enabling anything else
weird like in the network setup?

Using the CVS snapshot of 2 hours ago, I'm unable to lock onto any mux:
dvbtune (also from the CVS on sourceforge.net) complains:

ebox~/dvbtune# dvbtune -f 754166667 -i
Using DVB card "Grundig 29504-401"
tuning DVB-T (in United Kingdom) to 754166667 Hz

FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER

FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_TIMEDOUT FE_HAS_CARRIER
Not able to lock to the signal on the given frequency

So that's no use at all :/

Going back to 'old faithful' (the siemens-dvb 2002.06.23.patch driver on
the VDR Development FTP) yields slightly better results:

tuning DVB-T (in United Kingdom) to 754166667 Hz
Getting frontend event
Received completion event
Event: Frequency: 754166667
        SymbolRate: 0

Signal strength: 0
SNR: 0
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_POWER FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
<transponder type="T" freq="754166667">
Nothing to read from fd_pat
Nothing to read from fd_sdt
</transponder>

I don't have access to a rooftop aerial at the moment, but the Verror
reading is much better than it used to be. If I use "-m", Verror hovers
at around 4000. It used to be about 10000 and I still got perfect
pictures even at 10000! This leads me to believe that /something/ has
changed in the broadcast signal!

Running vdr (compiling NEWSTRUCT accordingly) with either driver
produces no results, nor do I have any joy with dvbstream =(

This is really bugging me since it was all perfect a few days ago! :(

Any ideas, anyone?

gdh
