Have you tried doing a recording on that (full featured) card?

Strange, I always had hw_sections=1, but that doesn't happen here
Although I did observe it once, but was never able to reproduce it.
Since I was heavily messing around with the driver at that time I
assumed that I had just screwed up and reloaded the driver.
