There is a free VDR recording at:
  http://www.feuerwehr-hessen.de/lfv/downloads/Filme/K1_Das_Magazin/Lebensretter_Rauchmelder

Be warned, the whole bunch is about 235 MBytes!

Just download the whole directory including all subdirectories (OK, you can
leave out the README files), e.g. with "wget -r", into your /video directory
(or whereever you want it). The directory contains the MPEG stream file, the
matching index file and a summary, it is a recording from Kabel 1 (in german).

If this film is far too big for you, I can put you another recording on my
server (about 30 or 40 MBytes), but this will take some time.

Good luck,
